Good morning! What’s good?
I’m sitting here easing into my Monday with a latte, listening to a Pimsleur French lesson in iTunes. Pardon?
I hope everyone had a nice weekend. I certainly did, but it was definitely on the indulgent side. And that’s okay. It’s impossible (and not very fun) to maintain a strict healthy diet and lifestyle at ALL times. I believe it’s all about finding a balance.
In my mind, as long as I make healthy choices most of the time, there’s no need to sweat a weekend of burgers and birthday cake… which just so happens to be the type of weekend I had.
A couple glasses of wine while watching the World Series. I’m not really a huge sports fan, but I can get into the big games…
Basically, I like the ones that you can turn into a party.
After a workout at LA Fitness, Andrew and I cooked up a classic vegetable scramble: broccoli, onion, zucchini and tomato, with avocado toast on the side.
Later in the day, we went to see a screening of Birdman on the Lot. My one sentence review: Go see it; it’s fabulous and unlike any other movie in theaters right now.
I’ve been gone 2 weeks and they’ve already finished a new mural. What? How?
After the movie, Andrew admitted that he had a serious craving for a burger, which I can usually get behind. Little did I know that he had a specific burger in mind.
I almost didn’t want to admit on this blog that I had In n Out for dinner Saturday night, but I’m owning it. A burger and fries is not going to kill me. And besides, it was delicious. It’s all about that balance…
The farmers’ market has gone full fall, which means the amount of money we spend on fruits has gone way down. The days of spending $25 at the fruit stand are over. Now we can get out of there with a full bag of fruits and vegetables for under $20.
The rest of our day was spent celebrating Andrew’s nephew’s 2nd birthday, which was adorable and a lot of fun.
Two-year-old birthday parties are all pretty much the same: a bunch of kids running around in chaos, followed by cake, followed by even more chaos. But it’s allll about that cake. And the balance! It’s all about the cake and the balance.
Question: What was the highlight of your weekend? I’d love to hear from you!
