30 Minute Arm & Shoulder Burner

How’s your week going so far?

The weather here in LA seems to be back to its normal warm and sunny self, but I understand that the rest of the country is still battling frigid cold and snow. Even with perfect weather, sometimes I just don’t feel like driving all the way to the gym for a workout. That was certainly the case for me yesterday, so I put together an arm and shoulder workout while watching America’s Test Kitchen.

I’ve been using 7.5 pound weights for upper body at the gym lately, so I thought I’d up the ante with 8-pounders. By the end of the third set, my shoulders were on fire and I was a hot, sweaty mess. Nice!

Here’s what I did:

BICEPS CURLS
TRICEPS KICKBACKS
FRONT SHOULDER RAISE into UPRIGHT ROW
OVERHEAD PRESSES
SIDE SHOULDER RAISES

I’ll be the first to admit that I am not an expert multi-tasker; I’m much more efficient when I focus my energy on one thing at a time. That said, when you’re trying to power through the third set of a circuit and your arms and shoulders are shaking, it is very helpful to have a mindless TV show on to help divert some of your attention. (Just be careful not to break good form!)
