WIAW #30: Dreaming of Disneyland


If I seemed obnoxiously pumped up yesterday (simply because of having a productive Monday), then watch out because I am a ball of excited energy today. Do you want to know why?!

As soon as I hit “publish” on this post, Andrew and I are going to Disneyland! I’ll most certainly give a full recap on our adventures in the happiest place on earth, upon our return. But in case you’re wondering, here are the things I’m most excited about (in this order):

  1. Churros (note the plural form of the word ‘churro’)
  2. Space Mountain (hello, space)
  3. Cars ride in California Adventure (was not yet open last time I was at Disneyland)
  4. Dinner at Blue Bayou inside Pirates of the Caribbean (we’re gunning for a waterfront table!)


What I Ate Wednesday, the post where I run through an entire day’s food intake, from the moment I wake up until the moment I go to bed. Get ready for too much information.

What I Ate Wednesday Tuesday 2/3/15

8:15am – Bulletproof Coffee. I’m running out of new places to pose my coffee.

After some blogging and work, I started to feel the workout window of opportunity slipping away. So before I lost all motivation, I unrolled my yoga mat and pieced together an Arms and Abs workout.

12:30pm – Broccoli & kale scrambled omelette. Rather than scrambling up the eggs once they had been added to the veggies, I let the eggs set and grated a little bit of pecorino cheese on top. Then I folded the whole thing in half and dug in.

After lunch, I was planning to knock out a few hours of work but I had technical difficulties, argh. Plan B was to spend the afternoon studying, which I suppose was an equally valuable use of my time.

4:30pm – Study break for a sweet and juicy Oro Blanco grapefruit. It only took about 25 minutes to peel.

8:00pm – For dinner, I wanted to use up some of the food we’ve been stockpiling in our freezer, so I pulled out Andrew’s two-step Turkey burgers, which we had with roasted broccoli and an avocado kale salad.

I love kale salads, but they require a little bit of prep ahead of time. Raw kale can be a bit harsh, so I try to give it a couple hours to marinate in  whatever dressing I’m planning to use with that particular salad. If you’re short on time, however, you can always get right in there and use your hands to massage the dressing into the kale.

And lastly, an after dinner fortune cookie for good luck.


One final side note: Do you guys watch the Bachelor? Because this season is a train wreck that I cannot tear my eyes away from. Kelsey is such a creepy weirdo!

Question: When’s the last time you went to Disneyland? Do you have a favorite ride/attraction/food? 

The last time I was at Disneyland was almost 10 years ago! Churros are obviously my favorite food item in the park, and I love Splash Mountain (which is closed right now), but so much has changed since that last time I was there that I bet I’ll have a few new favorites by the time I get home tonight.

    1. Those turkey legs look amazing! They’re about as big as a small child’s head, hah! You should definitely consider a return trip for the churros and turkey legs alone! 🙂
