First off, here’s a selfie. I’m turning 28 next week so who knows what I’m going to look like then.
I’m pretty pumped that it’s Friday. Why? Because it’s the best day of the week. I think we can pretty much all agree that Friday is a write-off, which leaves plenty of time to anticipate and make fun plans for the impending weekend. This particular weekend, Andrew and I are getting massages and making a trip to meet our brand new niece, Maxine, but that’s it as of right now.
How do you guys feel about pancakes? Kinda the same way I feel about Friday? If you do in fact have a special place in your heart for pancakes, I’ve got a recipe for you.
But first! A shout out to all of the things that made this week a great one in this week’s edition of…
Starbucks Spring Pastries
I’ve been using Starbucks as a study refuge lately, so much so that I’ve achieved gold member status. I usually avoid the pastry case, but the butterfly cookie and pink cake pops (couldn’t leave Andrew hanging) won me over. I blame the gold card and its free-pastry perks. By the way, those cake pops were shockingly good.
Lululemon Wunder Under Stirrups
This is big news. Lulu sells stirrups now! My favorite pair of around-the-house leggings are stirrups that I bought at Roots years ago, and I can only imagine how comfy and flattering the Lulu ones must be. #somuchmoney

I’m a sucker for vegetable facts, and this article is full of useful ones. I’m now determined to make a turnip mash.
Completing A 2015 Goal
In January I wrote a post about my goals for the year, and one of them was to run my first road race, a 5k. I’m pleased to say that it’s only March and I’ve already crossed that one off the list. The best part for me was running with Andrew. I was prepared to do a race on my own, but having Andrew along for the ride made it more of an adventure. Now I just have to convince him to join me on the next one…
Athleta’s 10k Training Plan
When I wrote out my 2015 goals, a 5k seemed like a fair challenge, but by the time race day arrived, it already felt too easy. As soon as I completed that 5k, I set my sights on doing a 10k by the end of the year. I’ve been researching training plans like crazy and this one is the best I’ve found so far. It dives deeper than most of the big picture plans I’ve seen, and seems to be aimed specifically at runners on my (5k) level.

As promised, an easy 4-ingredient, single bowl, gluten free pancake recipe perfect for a post-workout weekend brunch. Or any brunch for that matter. Pancakes, hello.
Easy 4-Ingredient Protein Pancakes
1 ripe banana, mashed
1 scoop protein powder (I’m partial to Sun Warrior vanilla)
1 T sunflower seed butter
Heat a skillet or pan over medium and spray with non-still oil (coconut oil is great because of its high smoke point).
While the pan is heating, mix all ingredients well. You can do this by hand, or throw everything in a blender and blend away for about 20 seconds.
Pour 1/4 cup of batter into the hot pan and allow to cook for 2 – 3 minutes on each side. Repeat with the rest of the batter.
Makes about 6 – 8 small pancakes. Enjoy with nut butter, syrup, fresh fruit, or chopped nuts.
Happy Friday! What do you guys have going on this weekend? Keeping busy with fun springtime plans or laying low and catching up on Netflix?
Per usual, you can keep the positivity rolling by checking out some additional Friday Favorites over on Heather’s blog. Cheers.
