We’re having some bizarre weather in LA today. We had some thunder storms last night and this morning the skies are overcast-ish and calm… they way they usually are before a storm. These clouds need to start packing up because spring starts tomorrow. I’m not sure if they heard.
I’m going to go out on a limb here and say that Spring is my favorite season. Andrew and I both have birthdays in the spring (along with a bunch of my girlfriends – Stephanie, Alli, Danielle, Dani, among others), and I love the gradual increase in both daylight and temperatures. Of course, the best part is Spring Cleaning! Anyone with me? No?
Spring Cleaning with Thred Up
I LOVE clearing out clutter and giving our home the deep clean it needs after months of holidays and get togethers (what is it about pine needles and glitter that make them impossible to remove completely?). Spring cleaning in our house isn’t accomplished in a single day, or even a single weekend. I like to do my spring cleaning in waves, and this year I started with my closet.
This past weekend, I completely cleaned out my closet and sent a heaping bag of clothes to Thred Up. Thred Up is basically the online Buffalo Exchange that pays well and doesn’t judge you or your clothes. That is to say, it’s awesome. You request a “clean out bag” and once it arrives, you fill it with clean, gently used clothes and sent it back (there is a pre-paid return label already on the bag). Thred Up assesses your clothes and determines the total value, which you can redeem via PayPal or (online) store credit.
This was my second time using Thred Up (after many disappointing Buffalo Exchange experiences), and I’m officially a fan. I made $96 on my first bag of clothes, and I’m anxious to find out how much I’ll make on this second bag.

Ok so! Spring Cleaning has officially begun, but just barely. So far, I’ve been doing a lot more spring baking than spring cleaning. (Ahem, churro muffins, lemon blueberry pound cake, loaded chocolate chip oatmeal cookies). Yes, clearly it’s time to shift my focus back in the direction of healthy living. It is all about finding a balance.
With that in mind, I put together this full-body at-home workout to help counter-balance all of those mini cupcakes!
Proper form is crucial to preventing injuries and also helps ensure that you’re getting the most out of your workout, so please check the links below for any exercises that are new to you!
Front lunges (with or without dumbbells)
Sing-leg dead lifts (the dumbbells are optional here, but may actually help you hold your balance)
Triceps dips (this is where that sturdy chair comes into play)
Overhead shoulder press
Supermans (bonus points if you do a 10-second hold on the last one)
