Good morning, happy campers!
I hope everyone had a fabulous weekend. Ours was 100% relaxing. It was also practically 100 degrees. Luckily, we’re back to a manageable 85 today. While today may be Monday, it is a very special Monday around here. Today marks two years of being married to this guy:
I can’t believe two whole years have passed. It feels like a minute.
Our wedding was one of my absolute favorite days of all time. I loved our venue, the Smog Shoppe. It was a unique inside/outside space and provided a gorgeous green background for our pictures.
Our officiant, Marsha Mendizza, was also wonderful. She was a pleasure to work with and did a great job of incorporating all of the different elements Andrew and I wanted in our ceremony.
I couldn’t have asked for a better group of girls to be my bridesmaids and keep me calm before the wedding (and look beautiful in all of my pictures)! We all live in different places now, so it felt like a reunion and I loved it.
We had THE most amazing DJ, Alfred Hawkins, who was 100% on board with our request to “smile, nod, and play Michael Jackson” whenever someone requested Lady Gaga or Justin Bieber.
We wanted a dance party, and we got one. Andrew’s Nana out-danced just about everyone on the dance floor, and that is a memory that I will hold onto forever. She was on fire.
We had a fabulous photographer, Will Chiang, who was automatically “in” because he’s a fellow Trojan, but his work speaks for itself. He’s a great wedding photographer and I would recommend him to anyone. Plus, he’s a pro at staging album covers:
Andrew and I have several friends who are planning weddings right now, and it’s fun to see them struggling to make many of the same decisions we struggled to make. It’s not easy to plan a wedding! Ultimately, however, there is not one thing I would change about our wedding day. If I could go back in time, and experience it again, I totally would. It was perfect.
Cheers to another 100+ years.
Have a great day, everyone!
