ladies weekend in san francisco

I didn’t really give any sort of recap from my ladies weekend in the city (of San Francisco) because it’s been a hectic week and I didn’t want to just throw something half-assed together, but the 3 days I spent with this group of women were some of the most fun I’ve had in a long time.

We talked, brunched, shopped, drank, danced, posed, laughed, cried, and ubered our way around the city. I love you guys and can’t wait to do it again next year.

Eggs Benedict at Sparro (San Francisco, CA)

Eggs Benedict at Sparro San Francisco, CA

The ladies and I ventured out for brunch one morning last weekend, and found ourselves at Sparro on Haight St. While the service (and attention to drink order detail) left a lot to be desired, the food was top notch. Four out of five ladies ordered the eggs benedict because of something the menu listed as “avocado butter”.

Are you craving eggs benedict now? Weekend brunch is just around the corner, so here’s an exceptionally easy hollandaise sauce recipe that is bulletproof executive-approved.

Bulletproof Hollandaise Sauce

INGREDIENTS
2 egg yolks
1 T lemon juice
Pinch of sea salt
Pinch cayenne pepper (optional)
1/2 cup Melted grass-fed unsalted butter (Kerrygold) or ghee (dairy free)
Small bunch fresh parsley (optional garnish)

INSTRUCTIONS
Mix egg yolks, lemon juice, salt, and cayenne in a blender on low for about 30 seconds, then slowly pour in the melted butter or ghee until fully emulsified. That’s it!

Cherries

We bought a pack of cherries Tuesday and had finished them off by Thursday. The lesson I learned was that you’ll need to go buy another pack on Thursday.

    1. Wow, this is actually really amazing, Alli. Great cause, great product, great people… get these girls on Shark Tank asap.

    1. I’m usually not a big eggs benny person, myself, so I feel you there. I bet this hollandaise would also go really well over grilled asparagus or salmon… 🙂

    1. I always forget about eggs benedict, but it’s always so good! The avocado was also a game changer 🙂
