The Only Constant Thing In Life

Good morning, friends!

It’s a muggy overcast day here in LA, but nothing can cloud my excitement for Friday! Friday means the hard part of the week is over and we’re just a few hours away from the weekend. And I am ready! It’s been a wild week you guys. No, scratch that. It’s been a wild month. Let me explain.

In the past two months, Andrew and I have made more major life decisions than we have in our (admittedly brief) two years of marriage.

What you guys, aka the Internet, don’t know (well, actually I bet the Internet does know because #conspiracies) is that for the past year and a half, Andrew and I have been semi-secretly planning a major move out of LA… to Canada. (And thank you, thank you to all of our family and friends who helped us with the permanent residency application process. I was finally approved!)

But it’s all moot now.

A month or so ago, Andrew and I found out about an opportunity in the Bay Area that basically changed everything. To make a really long story short, we have both accepted job offers (that we couldn’t refuse) in Silicon Valley, are moving out of LA, and have put our Canada plans on hold.

Cue Bowie:

Unsurprisingly, the craziness only continues over the course of the next two months. I start working remotely out of my new company’s satellite LA office, then Andrew and I go on our camping adventure, then we move up to the Bay Area, sell our condo, and start our two new jobs. Oh, and somewhere in there we’ll need to find a place to live.

It's all a blur

SO! My new sporadic casual posting schedule is likely going to become the norm around here. I’m not closing down the blog; I love it too much. The reason I started this blog in the first place was to have an outlet for exploring my love of fitness and nutrition. Seeing as I still love those two things, I don’t see any reason to do away with their designated outlet. As I transition back into a standard 9 to 5 job structure, I’m sure I’ll be grateful for this creative escape.

Phew! That was really helpful, you guys. Having to condense everything that’s been on my mind into a 500 word blog post really helped put things into perspective. All of the upcoming changes are positive and we’re lucky to have the opportunities we’ve been given. Even all of the packing boxes that are taking over our apartment are fun… No… That was a lie. It’s madness. Just. Be. Casual!

As always, thanks for listening. Have a fantastic weekend.

Sooo… that’s what’s been going on with me. What’s new with YOU?
