Did you hear? It’s Friday. YEAH. On Fridays, it’s become a tradition around here to share some of my favorite things from the week. Anything funny, interesting, inspirational, or otherwise noteworthy in anyway is welcome on this list. My favorites are below, and I always love hearing about yours in the comments!
This beautiful GIF Andrew made of his trip to Montreal
Not only does the GIF capture a stunning view of the rainy city, but it also perfectly captures the mood of the trip. Unfortunately, Andrew was in Montreal to be with his family and pay his respects to his Nana who very recently passed away.
She was one truly remarkable woman, and I’m honored to have known her and gotten to spend the time with her that I did.
Ok, so it’s not new at all. It’s just a refresh of the same cut I’ve had for almost a whole year now. One downside of shorter hair is that it requires more maintenance than long hair. So thank you, thank you, Margie, for the gift certificate 🙂
OK, ready for a flashback?
I was a mermaid.
We’ve been swimming in beautiful, fragrant, farmers’ market fruit all week and I’ve been loving it.
Peaches, nectarines, pluots, cherries, strawberries… We’ve had no trouble polishing off all of the fruit, just in time to restock at Sunday’s market.
Such a simple, small thing can make the biggest difference in how cheery the house feels.
Plantains from the Whole Foods hot food bar
And what goes better with plantains than hummus and shredded rainbow carrots?
Yesterday’s Full Body strength + cardio Workout
You guys seemed to dig this workout, and I’m glad. It’s one of the ones I keep saved as a picture on my phone for gym emergencies.

Introverts Prefer Mountains: How Your Personality Affects Where You Should Live [PsyBlog] Interesting, but I’d personally prefer the ocean over the mountains any day.
Salmon and Black Sesame Onigiri (Japanese Rice Balls) [The Kitchn] This recipe looks challenging for sure, but I really want to try it.

The Exercise Rule That Will Keep You Fit Forever [Summer Tomato] Good, simple tip to help you escape “lazy couch momentum”.
DIY Potted Cactus Macaroons [Sugar and Cloth] Holy cow, these are amazing. I’m not sure this is the best or most entry-level recipe to start with, however, seeing as I have yet to successfully make any real macaroons, but it’s something to work towards.

I hope you all have lots of fun things planned for the long weekend ahead. Andrew and I are getting massages and potentially going to see a classic rock tribute band called Dazed and Confused, so I’m sure I’ll have plenty to report back with on Tuesday. Have a great weekend!
Question: What have YOU been loving lately?
